The FDNY 2004 Calendar was launched in fine fashion yesterday, with the firefighters making an appearance at the Today show and then the photo-op and calendar signing at the South Street Seaport.
Newsday has a gallery of photos of the firefighters, plus a cute video segment with very excited women (including a mother of a firefighter) and sort of sheepish but actually very proud firefighters. Sigh.

Gothamist reader AT generously got us a calendar. She says, "Glad you didn't want an inscription, because I didn't have the time to wait behind 150 receptionists on their lunch break. The guys are cute but shorter in person." Sigh, we're super jealous.

why is it that when lady cops pose in playboy, they always get fired, but a firefighter can pose in his panties and they basically pin a medal on his chest? what the fuck is that all about?
