A great gift idea: The new 2004 FDNY Calendar of Heroes. Not only does it features the city's bravest, proceeds goes towards fire awareness and prevention programs.
The Daily News tells us about some of the firefighters, but today all twelve of the pinups will be at the South Street Seaport, Pier 17, from 10:30AM-2PM, signing calendars.
If you're not lucky enough to be anywhere near there, you can still buy it online at the Firezone.

If anyone does go, please buy me one and I'll take you out for a drink and we can discuss which firefighter is cutest.
I'd like it to be inscribed something along the lines of "To Jen, Whose Fire I'd Like to Put Out."
I'm going... do you really want me to buy you one?
Yes! Please get me one, if it's not too much trouble... You don't have to get me that inscription, though. It's pretty shameful.
You want him to pee on you?
Confused, you're silly.
This is so disappointing! Should the firemen show off? Were they really allowed to? One member said to probies, "When you're going out there into the real world, don't be no hotdog show-off jerk. Pay attention to your senior men and do what you're told." I might faint, cry, or go nuts in excitement if I met a FDNY member in person. What's the ages of these calendar guys. I know a lot about the FDNY. The documentary 9/11 was inpiring and magnificent. I hate the show Rescue Me. How dare you, Denis Leary, for giving such a wrong impression and representation on the FDNY! It's true that they smoke and drink because of the 9/11 stress. They should set a good example. Two memembers committed suicide because of the dismal rescue efforts at Ground Zero. Firemen and other non-civilians deal with ugly things everyday. It's part of the job, but that was worse. It pushed guys off their limit, maybe past it. They couldn't take it and weren't willing to dig anymore. Few survivors were found after long, hard, tedious work. They didn't feel like heroes when people cheered for them. Poor good, innocent 343 firefighters and other victims who died. I call them Ghosts of the Pinnacle. I love firemen! I love the FDNY! Thank you!
