Dave Grohl and Jack Black As You Never Wanted To See Them

Dave Grohl and Jack Black in LowThe Foo Fighters' new video, Low, will not be shown on MTV, because it depicts some very disturbing scenes with frontman Dave Grohl and funny man Jack Black, which NME summarizes well:

In the clip, the two can be seen checking into a motel where they film themselves consuming vast amounts of alcohol and smashing up their room, before dressing up in women's underwear and wigs. They then engage in sexual acts, resulting in Black passing out and vomiting into the toilet.

Some might say MTV is being conservative and not very "MTV" (like that means anything anymore) by balking at the spanking-while-in-drag scene. However, Gothamist is thankful, having seen the video. Now, we may be going out on a limb, but does anyone, gay or straight, really want to see Grohl and Black in some sort of "white trash porn"? And if the Foo Fighters are going to have some sort of drag fantasy, why couldn't pretty boy drummer Taylor Hawkins be involved? If this is what the age of irony hath wrought - the FF's site calls the video "Mad Hick Man Love" - Gothamist wants out.

See the video here. Don't say we didn't warn you. "Low" can also be seen on the CD, One by One.

this video is HILARIOUS... it's creative and different. as mentioned above, the foos produced a lot of amusing videos (learn to fly, breakout, everlong, walking after you), and it's a joke that this one wasn't played on mtv. i'd choose watching this type of music video over someone just singing into a mic any day. and i'd rather see dave grohl and jack black in skimpy clothing than a music video full of extras doubling as amature prostitues. as for the song... it's among my favs. :)

Foo Fighters are always pushing the limits. They dont live what the show on their videos. If you ever joined a Foo koncert, you will know, that they all are healthy and straight guys, who just love to provoke. Dave is a nice, friendly and loving guy, who does videos like this to make young people thing. Not doing what they see.

  • Well, no... I din't like the song. I think they could do much better than that.

  • Stacey

Dave Grohl is the hottest man alive. You are so wrong if you disagree and I'm not a hick.

  • Mattiaalsamini

All Foo's video are a bit "freaky" and funny (remember "Learn to fly" and "Everlong") We have to accept this video, because Dave is a healthy person and for me there is no problem to do a scandalous video.

Dave Grohl is freaking hot man. I am a hick and i love hick man love. Whooee load up the pick-up we're going into town

  • Jen

MTV shows clips of videos during TRL, from what I hear. Not that VH1 is that great, but at least on Saturday and Sunday morning, I can see what the country's liking with their Top 20 Video Countdown. And I know that I don't like most of what the country likes.

  • Glenn

What can I say? I like the song. I like the album. But, I agree that it's a disgusting sight.

  • too shy

    *that* was gross.

  • adrian

wait a minute - when does MTV show videos? seriously - when do they show videos?

  • adrian

oh my lord, *what* were they thinking?

  • Jen

Glenn, it's just awful, to see Jack Black in woman's clothes and Dave Grohl in lipstick. Not good. And the song sucks.

  • Glenn

MTV showed Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" but not a video with two males getting drunk and wearing women's underwear? Hmm...
