Gothamist and 601am Thank You

Aaron of 601am, Jen and Jake of Gothamist

Gothamist and 601am's first Happy Hour was a great success, and it was great to see so many friends, including the famous, some old high school students of Jake's, and even Entertainment Weekly's It Stand Up, stopping by to chat and enjoy a drink. In fact, Jake did drink more Cosmopolitans than Aaron (seven? eight?) and Jen did find hearty souls to do shots with at Smithfield and later at Ludlow Bar (she lost her voice, though).

Aaron, Jen, and Jake thank all of you for making last night a night to remember - or a night to have blacked out. And if you didn't make it, don't worry - we're already planning the next one!

Photographs and comments from the happy hour.

But we're happy fools. And we did notice many bloggers and our friends. I think we held our ground.

  • Funky Nuts

You folks are all fools! Didn't you realize the reason most people were at that party was for someone else's going away party?

  • I ate some wasabi peas (though they weren't spicy enough but still they were good and free) and pretzels. There were big silver bowls on the tables in the bar with snacks. And let me reiterate I loved the $3 ladies night drinks!

  • Jen

There were snacks? I made Todd Barry buy me a Guaco Taco at San Loco, I needed substance so badly.

  • The snacks were excellent as well. Why is no one mentioning the excellent snacks?

  • Thanks gothamist and 601am. Good times.

  • this was utterly fabulous and i cannot wait for the next one!

  • All bloggers have digital cameras, I swear. I am the blonde girl sitting at the bar in the background of all your photos!

  • Despite all the hours spent in front of a keyboard, bloggers are a friendly lot. Who would've thunk it? Thanks guys for organizing it. We had a blast.

  • Thank you ALL for the very friendly welcome - I had no idea what to expect but ended up having a great time. Would have been drinking more (esp. on Ladies Night!!) if I hadn't been at an open bar the night before and trying to get over this awful cold. Next time though, I'm in for the drinking contest! (I so shouldn't say things like that, but whatever).

I LOVE EVERYBODY. Thanks for coming all of you. I met so many of my favorite reads. Now I just want that R. Kelly "Ignition (Re-mix)" song out of my head ("I got my homeys to my left, my honeys to the right...").

most definately hungover. but worth it. if you'll excuse me, i need to go home sick and sleep the rest of the day.

  • Had to see Broken Social Scene's early set at the Mercury. I hope Happy Hour #2 is in the near future.

  • thanks for the party-it was fun!

I woke up this morning feeling residually cool. Thanks Gothamist and 601!

  • Dude. Rock. I love you guys.

  • Hangover? What hangover?

  • Karru

Thank you for organizing a great time . . . it was quite an impressive display of Cosmopolitan consumption, hope that the ibuprofen liquid gels are handy this morning. Looking forward to the next time.

  • Wow that's a forced, drunk smile I've got there!

Thanks everyone for stopping by last night. What fun!

note to self: three cosmos is more than enough. i woke up in a dumpster over on varick street wearing nothing but choire's underwear. oh well- that's the price you pay for good times.
