Advertising Lows

2003_6_ckadkiddieporn.jpgAdAge AdWeek looks at the ten very bad advertising campaigns. Entries include the Fox Sports "Mike Tyson as baby-sitter" spot and Sony Pictures David Manning debacle. But coming in at number one was the "kiddie porn" Calvin Klein campaign.

Maybe I wasn't clear when I wrote: "I think one of the most celebrated ad campaigns they might pick would be the Gap campaign, which was in-house..." I didn't mean the Gap campaign as a low - I meant it was a high, and if AdAge were to do something about the most celebrated=best=great ad campaigns, they would choose the Gap.

Wait a minute, you think the gap campaign(s) qualify as a low?!?!? If that's the case, then please for the love of God get out of advertising NOW while you still have a non-weasel/reptilian soul, becasue they may have already got to you.

Oops, I wasn't paying attention when I was linking - I read both and just assumed it was AdAge since they don't have as much of the ass-subscriber policy as AdWeek does.

Anyway, yes, while there are many in-house campaigns, I think one of the most celebrated ad campaigns they might pick would be the Gap campaign, which was in-house. I think agencies do provide a service, and that's not just because I work at one.

Its so awesome that you refer to the list from AdAge when its Adweek. So much for branding!

Also it says alot about advertising weasels that they picked so many in-house campaigns. "If only they'd hired overpaid gasbags like us, they could've prevented themselves the embarrassment!"
