That's absolutely AWESOME! I can't believe you met him in the flesh... Need to start some sort of Jeffrey Steingarten fan club... But yes very awesome and I am happy for you (apparently this was 3 years ago... but still... he's awesome!) I don't think he's arrogant like the other people are saying... he just has a very discerning palate and a candor about him that would make Simon Cowell shake in his shoes...

I won't be quite as harsh as "Tim" with insulting Jeffrey (although his comment made me chuckle) but I am sorry that I'd ever met him in person...he's far better in print and so are a lot of food writers - sadly.
