Buffy Series Finale Recap

Buffy and Angel; Photo - UPNCNN's Andy Walton gives a wrap-up of what happened on the Buffy series finale last night. He claims there are spoilers, but he misses some serious plotpoints. Like the death of a certain Scooby. But Gothamist will leave that to the comments section.

jesus- i am so pissed off about this last episode. it had all the plot integrity and flow of a clip show. basically it was just a bunch of these little encounters between the characters- there was no sense of a final, titanic build-up that the show so richly deserved. some comments:

    1. how could they get rid of anya like that? she had like one line in the whole show, and then got cut in half in like .5 seconds of screen time.

    2. did the final plan make any sense at all? i mean, why not make all the girls slayers before going down into the hole?

    3. could the writers rely any more heavily on acts of god? i mean, lucky for the scoobies that angel delivered that all powerful amulet in the nick of time- with no explanation at all. i mean, really!

    4. talk about walk-ons. Angel did like 5 lines and then disappeared. Crap!

I think the entire show would have been better served by a final season with much fewer characters, so the relationships and subtleties between the main characters could have been fully played out. Instead, we got Robin Wood, 10000 slayerettes, and 15% coherence.
