Kobe Beef...Hot Dog?!?!

Good God, The Old Homestead is going to offer a $19 Kobe Beef Hot Dog at their Atlantic City restaurant, scheduled to open in July at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

The hot dog will feature 11 ounces of American-raised Kobe beef and measure 12.5 inches long and 2 inches wide. The hot dog will be served on a brioche frankfurter roll with white truffle mustard. Customers also can add Kobe beef chili, Vidalia onions, Holland bell peppers and Cheshire Cheddar sauce.

Gothamist went to The Old Homestead for the $42 Kobe Beef Burger. Does this mean we're going to Atlantic City this summer?

  • if it is not raised in Kobe Japan then technically it is not Kobe beef but Gyu-Niku

  • Whoa damn I need to try one of those!!! MmmMmm had a good bratwurst this weekend :P

Jen - a quick search on Google reveals that, surprisingly, no one seems to have tried this yet. Could this be our first million dollar Gothamist product?

Sam T. - Nathan's hot dogs on Coney Island are the real deal. Anything else is a cheap (or in this case preposterously expensive) knock-off.

  • I usually take my Mom, when she visits, to Coney Island for one of those crummy Nathan's hot dogs. Maybe this year I will shell out for the real deal in Atlantic City...

Remember the desiccator from college? How about Kobe Beef Jerky!

you know what might be really good, a kobe beef steak that actually was a... steak! i mean, don't mess with success, that's what my mama always said.

but if you do want to mess with success, i'd recommend:

    1. kobe beef toothpaste

    2. kobe beef calimari

    3. kobe beef legwarmers

    4. kobe beef shrimp cocktail
