Singer-songwriter-actress June Carter Cash died last night. Though she was well known for being a part of the "Carter Sisters" country singing group, June Carter Cash is best known for her relationship, both professional and personal, with husband Johnny Cash. She wrote "Ring of Fire" about falling in love with him, and later wrote about Johnny Cash,"Those black eyes that shone like agates. I only glanced into them because I believed that I would be drawn into his soul and I would never have been able to walk away."

She could be seen recently in the recent Johnny Cash video, Hurt. Reese Witherspoon is eyed to portray June in a Johnny Cash biopic, with Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny.

i feel terrible about this- i loved june carter cash, and of course, i love her husband very much. i feel bad for him, because i know he depended on her a great deal, especially now that he's been ill.
I wonder if Johnny's health will continue to fail - there have been many instances where the widow/widower dies not too long after the spouse...it's very sad.
I did'nt know of June until i watched the film about their life together 'walk the line'. As the film was based mostly on Johnny's autobiography, i would like to think the film is close to the actual lives of these two wonderful human beings. What a true powerful love they have. Of course they have passed some time now,but they will be singing for ever more together. What a fabulous life of entertainment and friends throughout the music industry. The two lead rolls played the parts tremendously well. I always feel sentimental when i think of Johnny as my late Uncle was a very big fan of his. I am greatful that i got to see the man him self perform at Glastonbury Festival many years ago. God bless you both, Thank you Gary & Shari x
