04-11-03 What a man he was.....a very special man,a great reporter and a husband and father of three. I just want to say that David will be missed by me and many others who watched him daily. Even though I had no personal contact with him, I have seen clearly his charm and spirit through his reporting, especially with the war coverage. He was a man with a purpose and a dream and he fulfilled both. He liked what he did and done it to his best ability. Be proud! My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.

I guess the thing to consider is that he loved what he did. And to approach our lives with similar passion and interest. I don't know how stories about rice pudding or pandas work into it, but I feel good doing my small thing...maybe it'll give me the confidence to do bigger things.

i feel miserable about david bloom- it's not just that he was my favorite reporter, but he just seemed so full of life. i mean, here we are sitting in new york talking about pudding and celebrities and ten thousand kinds of bullshit and he was out getting the story and really living life. and he managed to have a family and three kids. we do nothing and can't even manage to raise a plant.
