The newly renovated Pearl River inspires talk of all the Chinoiserie inspired clothing seen on runways lately. Stylists' advice? Don't go overboard - just pick one item - and don't spend too much. Hence, Pearl River.

Lately, Roberto Cavalli has featured a lot of cheongsam type wear, but Vivienne Tam has always been influenced by China.

I'm looking for suggestions of shocking, intense, bizarre, atypical events occuring in NYC this Sat, 8/21/04.

The more insane the better.

Politically incorrect, good.

20-30 something??, but not specific to this age group.

Anything that could be way out there.

Having actually been to the new Pearl River (and having been a fan of the original) I can say that the new location is a truly bizzare blend of Chinatown discount and SoHo hipster.
