Mayor Bloomber gand Police Commissioner Kelly gave a press conference today about security issues.

UPDATED: The Daily News has a list of the teams under Operation Atlas. "Cobra Team" deals with biological, chemical or radiological attacks. "Archangel" is made up of bomb experts and investigators "strategically placed around the city."

PLUS the non-emergency number 311 is in effect!

What you can use 311 for, according to NYC.gov:
- Find out if alternate side of the street parking is in effect
- Report loud noise, or a blocked driveway
- Find your neighborhood library and its operating hours
- Find out how to become a Parks Department lifeguard
- Leave an opinion for the Mayor
- Report a pothole or street light that needs to be fixed
- Find out about garbage collection
- And much, much more

The boys in Charm City were the first to use 311.

Gothamist thought 311 was some shitty band that named themselves after the police code for indecent exposure. More police codes.

311 is a band that named themselves after the police code for indecent exposure. Their name came after a few of the members were arrested for nudity in a public pool. The police code was 311 and stuck on as a joke. They've always been ahead of the sound and have continued to produce awesome CDs and live shows. Props to 311. One of the better bands still around since the early 90s/1989

Heh! Good call. The sunken eyes definitely add to any future caricature of Bloomby.

Is it just me or is Bloomberg looking more and more like a sleestack? Perhaps we have entered the land of the lost...
