Music Minute

Interpol lead singer Paul Banks; photo - Ben Watts for NYTSam had a good time at the Interpol show Saturday night, especially with the Raveonettes ("The lead singer, she's hot, man."). Me, I saw Tears of the Sun (and it almost made me cry of boredom in during the first 90 minutes, even though it's directed by the director with the best last name ever, Antoine Fuqua), but I've been listening to "NYC" by Interpol a lot. It's pretty hypnotizing. While some say they sound a lot like Joy Division, but Paul Banks also sounds like Michael Stipe in "NYC." There's something reedy about his voice. Other songs, like "Obstacle 1," definitely sound very Joy Division.
