Dateline, Hong Kong A few

Dateline, Hong Kong

A few cool things about the MTR, Hong Kong's extensive mass transit system.

Paying for bread with your Octopus card, a smart card for transportation and other use.

Aggressive marketing of the latest in audio-visual technology - in the station!

Informative signage, complete with icons telling you what transportation is available at that exit (in this case, at Exit C at the Mong Kok stop in Kowloon, taxi, bus and tram are outside)

Seeing that the Chinese translation of the movie title "8 Mile" is "8 Miles of Road/Highway"

Glass screens and doors between the train and platform to prevent accidents, available in some (usually the most crowded) stations.

And, finally, using The Powerpuff Girls to promote subway safety and etiquette!

Thanks for the pictures. I wish I had had a digital camera with me to take these when I was visiting in January as well.

Am I correct in remembering that Mojo Jojo is also featured nearby the subway tunnels themselves?
